Picture of the DayIt seems to be pretty unanimous around the board that we are all ready to say good riddance to 2009 and welcome in 2010 with open arms! 09 certainly was a tough one for me so I'm definitely looking forward to a new year. What is it about January 1st that brings on so many feelings of hope? Really, every new day could be a new start, but for some reason the change of a year really seems to spark the excitement of renewal, bettering your life, organizing your home and hope for great things that await that year. I have high hopes for this year, too. We only moved a month ago and it was during a very busy, hectic time. I was still working and going to school full time. I had to have a garage sale while there was still electricity in the old house (I'm having another one tomorrow). The holidays were here, so I had to decorate, do Christmas shopping, wrapping and preparing. I was scheduled to be divorced on the 17th, so I had to prepare statements and other documents for that, along with taking a parenting class. So, I haven't had much time to settle down and unpack and decorate, so I hope to get done with that in January. I'm also hoping that I can pay up on our gym membership so Danni and I can get back into the routine. I miss being able to workout in the evenings! I wish Jason was old enough to do it with us, too, because he really wants to go work out with us. I don't understand why he can't. He has to work out for hockey and football, so why is he too young? Oh well. One of my new years resolutions is to stop being so cheap at the grocery store. I always want to buy healthier things for my family, but it's so expensive that I freak out and end up not getting the good stuff, but I'm going to bite the bullet and hopefully that will help us get healthier. Another resolution I have is to take one picture every day! A scrapbooker who's blog I read had a product called Project 365 (I think). It's where you take a picture a day and it has a kit to help you scrapbook the years photos. So, I thought Jan 1st would be a great day to start that project! I don't have the kit, yet, but at least I can start taking the pictures. Today's picture is a little funny because Danni didn't want me to take a picture of her since she just woke up, but she was reading Twilight and I wanted to capture that. We went to the movies last night to see New Moon for the 2nd time. It was great, again! I never want to see movies in the theater more than once, but Twilight and New Moon are the exception! I'm obsessed! That's why I wanted that to be the picture to start out the project, because that's where we are right now. Not to mention that Danni got Scene it? the Twilight edition for Christmas and she schooled me!
Even though I am full of hope and excitement for the new year, I have to admit, it kind of started on a rough note for me, Liz and Frank. Mostly Frank. He and Deana broke up. It's not totally surprising, but still sad. Liz is throwing up and has a soar throat, sounds like strep to me. And when Danni and I got home from the movies last night, we came home to find that Pebbles (who should have been in her kennel) ripped up part of the carpet on the top step coming up from the laundry room. I wanted to kill her! Bad dog. I hate that this place isn't mine because I do NOT want to tell the landlord about this. I don't think this is an indication of a bad year, though, because 09 started out great and look at that year. Okie dokie. Guess I better start with that unpacking! Happy New Year!!!
